BEEF! Picadillo – Pinoy Food Recipe


The title of this Pinoy Food recipe might sound foreign to you. For me it is. It sound very unusual to me because the usual Pinoy Food recipes that we prepare are just common foods like Menudo, Mechado, Nilaga, Sinigang, etc. Beef is a good source of Vitamin B which helps on converting carbohydrates to energy. That is why if your work has a lot of physical activities, you should try this Pinoy Food recipe to keep yourself productive enough. Below is the recipe for the Pinoy Food Picadillo.

PICADILLO INGREDIENTS
1/4 kilo ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
2 potatoes, peeled and diced
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 tomato, thinly sliced
1 tbsp patis
1 tsp salt
ground pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
5 cups water
1 tbsp oil

PICADILLO PROCEDURES
1. Heat oil in a saucepan. Brown garlic, then add onions and tomatoes. Saute for 3-5 minutes or until tomatoes are cooked.
2. Add ground beef. Saute until brown. Season with patis, pepper, salt, and sugar.
3. Pour in about 5 cups of water and allow to boil. Add diced potatoes. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
