Pork Binagoongan Recipe With Gata

Today, I ate one of the most popular dishes in the Philippines, Pork Binagoongan. I was a bit unsatisfied on how the cook cooked it. There is something missing in the taste, and then the cook said that it would be much better if there is coconut milk added in the ingredients. That’s why I decided to search for a recipe for this and post it here in my blog PinoyFood201.

The result that I have is one from Pinoy Cravings website titled “Pork Binagoongan with Gata” The recipe is simple. The ingredients are below:

  • 1 kl Pork Belly Cubed or Liempo
  • 2 tbsp corn oil
  • 6 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1 minced white onion
  • 5 chopped small tomatoes
  • Half cup shrimp paste or Bagoong
  • 3 tbsp cane vinegar
  • 1 and half tsp sugar
  • 3 sliced diagonally eggplants
  • Half cup coconut cream of Gata
  • Salt and pepper to taste

By looking on the ingredients, I imagined that it is not just an ordinary recipe of Pork Binagoongan. This one is a special version of it. If you want to look on the procedure on how to cook this recipe, you can read it here.
